Heritage Oaks Torpedoes

Katie is sophomore in college attending the University of Georgia. She graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High School where she competed on their varsity swim team for four years. Katie has qualified and competed in the county and state championships four years in a row, specializing in distance freestyle and backstroke. She has been swimming since she was 8 years old on Tidal Waves and grew up doing summers with Heritage Oaks. She has experience working with large groups of kids, coaching at a tennis camp and teaching Sunday School at her church in Athens. Katie is returning for her third year coaching for the Torpedoes and is excited to create a fun environment where kids can excel.

Mia is a rising freshman at Georgia Tech where she will swim for their club swim team. She was the 4x MVP for the Hillgrove High School Varsity Swim Team as well as a captain. Mia has swam for Tidal Wave Swimming for the past 10 years and has swam for the Torpedoes for the past 5 years. In previous years, she has worked with Kids in Action teaching kids how to swim and be comfortable in the water. Mia is extremely excited to be coaching for HOT this year and can’t wait for an amazing season!

Sofia is a rising freshman at Western Carolina University and a recent graduate of Hillgrove. She competed for Hillgrove’s varsity team competing at both County and State meets and lettering all four years. This is her 9th summer with HOT and 4th year as a coach. She also previously swam for Tidal Wave Swimming. Sofia’s excited to coach such a great team and can’t wait for another amazing season!

Allie is a rising freshman in college and a recent graduate of Hillgrove. She swam for Hillgrove's varsity swim team and was a Captain her senior year. In addition, she was a 4x County qualifier and 3x State qualifier. This is Allie's 9th season with the Torpedoes and 4th year coaching, and has been swimming since 2013. She can't wait for another great season and to see everyone at the pool!

Gracie is a freshman in college. She has been swimming for eight years and coaching for about four years. She has previously swam with Tidal Wave, Echo Mill, Oak Amber, and Country Walk. She is a 6th and 7th-grade small group leader at her church and loves kids! Gracie is returning for her third year coaching for Heritage Oaks, and she is very excited!

Jonah is a rising senior at Hillgrove High School, where he is a two-time MVP and upcoming team captain. He trains with the DCS High Performance group in Kennesaw and has achieved multiple National and AAAA time standards. With 11 years of competitive experience, including two years with HOT, he brings strong performance and swimmer development knowledge. He has also worked as a swim instructor with Kids in Action and is committed to making a positive impact on every swimmer he coaches this summer.

Ellie is a rising junior at Hillgrove High School. She has been swimming her whole life and previously swam for Tidal Waves. Ellie is a longtime member of Heritage Oaks Torpedoes and swims for the Hillgrove Hydrohawks. She loves babysitting and is very excited for her first year coaching for Heritage Oaks!

Maddox is a rising junior at Hillgrove High School. He currently swims year-round for Tidal Waves and is a member of Hillgrove’s Hydrohawks team. This is his 6th season swimming with Heritage Oaks and first year coaching for the team. Maddox is excited to give back to the community that inspired him to get into swimming.
